Welcome 2010!!!

A new year. A time for reflection of the previous year. What did you accomplish? What did you put off? What are your goals for this breath of fresh air new year 2010?

My year 2009 was a mixture of ups and downs as was for a lot of us. I am proud to say that I accomplished my coursework for my Master of Science in Nursing last year. That was the single largest accomplishment to date for me. I did put off my last clinical placement for said degree so that will resume on January 11th at the Orlando VA. I am excited to get this behind me so I can study for my boards.

I am proud to say that my husband and I joined a church. That is a huge accomplishment since my husband is Catholic and I am not. I found a church that meets in the middle, one that does not make you take classes to become a member nor does it require baptism if you have already been saved. Friends Community Church is affiliated with the Church of God which is new for both of us and so far we like it. I must admit that since Thanksgiving we have not been faithful church goers. That of course will change with this new year. Now I must work on tithing. 10% is hard to let go of.

I have become a better person in many ways but still have a long way to go to become the person that I want to be.

I hope to become much more efficient at keeping this blog going to continue my connection with friends and to learn from others.

I wish a prosporous new years for all of you as well as all Americans. I wish for safety for all of our troops and pray to bring them home.

10 months later......

My blogging career got off to a super sluggish start. I easily place the blame on grad school. I just finished my Master of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt University. I'm going to be a bonafide nurse practitioner real soon!!

Life is still a chaotic bliss and I assume that it will always be that way. I seem to thrive on chaos. My oldest boy, Tim, is in the Army and is stationed right now in Huntsville, AL at Redsone Arsenal. I am so proud of him, he is such a fine young man! My youngest, Dylan, is playing hardball with me right now but I love him all the same.

With Tim in the Army and school over it is now time to create a nursery for our daughter, Briana Rene, who is somewhere in China. Sounds like fun until you actually step into the room of a teen boy!!! Goodwill is ging to love me!!

Time is near to start dinner, I think Papa John's is calling my name much to the chagrin of my husband. Oh well, it's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission, right?

Stay tuned.....

Welcome

Thank you Nikki for helping me to start my blogging career. Everyone should go to Blogs for a cause and check out the wonderful, selfless things this woman is doing for children and families of the world.
I have jumped on the bogging bandwagon!! Please be patient and kind as I am new to this and my blog will be a work in progress.
Why did I start this blog, you ask? I have a lot on my mind and my confidant is my husband so you may see my dilemma. I love my husband with every inch of my being but he is not "girlfriend" material. Get it?
I have many friends, one very wonderful one, Karen D. in TN. But you see I live in FL. I also have a dear friend Karen D. (OMG! What a coincidence!) in FL as well but we have such different, busy lives. It makes getting together a challenge. So I am reaching out to you in cyber land to listen to my rants and raves.
I hope to make some friends and look forward to following all of the blogs that I currently read on a daily basis. Hopefully my blog will be that popular one day. Life is wonderful and my family will be going through some real exciting things in the year to come that I can't wait to share with all of you.

Sincerely,
Shelley
